With increasing competition among healthcare providers — including dentists — it’s imperative that your website establish a connection with visitors. 

As visitors navigate your pages, there must be a clear “call-to-action” (CTA) that prompts them to take action. 

What is a call-to-action?

It’s a line of text that prompts your online visitors to quite literally take “action.” A CTA is an essential part of your online marketing and overall website strategy. 

A few popular CTAs:

“Get Access To Our Exclusive Offer” — Your visitors aren’t just trying to find a new dentist or another healthcare provider. They also want to find exclusive offers that persuade them to take action, and book an appointment. Using words like “exclusive” can be effective in increasing the chance a visitor will follow through with the appointment. A discount on whitening or orthodontics is often very attractive to visitors.

“Download Our Exclusive Guide” — Website visitors are also interested in helpful guides that educate them about complex treatments like orthodontics or dental implants. With these offers, you will be viewed as an influencer — and you’ll get inside knowledge of your visitors’ interests, which is valuable for your marketing. 

“Get Helpful Information Delivered Directly To Your Inbox” — Website visitors might (or might not) click the “subscribe to my e-newsletter” button on your website. To continue building your email list — and strengthening your reputation as an influencer — it’s critical that your website have a CTA that focuses on the unique value you provide in your emails. 

“Join Others Like You” — People like to belong to a group; that’s why social media sites are very popular. Your CTA can show people they are becoming a member of a group. This type of statement works to send people directly to sign-up pages, appointment pages, or offer pages.

“Attend Our Next Event” — An event is a great way to connect with prospective patients. Your invitation needs a CTA statement that actually gets people excited about your event. If possible, update your event call-to-action buttons or messages so they are tailored for each event you have — instead of a generic RSVP button. 

“Take a Complimentary Tour” — People love to test-drive a new product. They also like to see your practice (and you)  in a video, so they know what to expect. Or you might create a brief video about your orthodontics services, and show before/after pics. They will feel like they’re getting VIP treatment from you.
