Email is a perfect marketing tool for driving sales during the holiday season. There’s still plenty of time to take advantage of holiday email marketing. A few ideas:

Cyber Monday Sale: The Monday post-Thanksgiving, Cyber Monday is an annual event. Every e-commerce site should be plugged into this annual online shopping event. Send a series of emails leading up to Cyber Monday — promoting special discounts. 

Holiday Preview Sale: Create a stir before the holiday rush, letting your “preferred customers” get access to your discounts before the big day. Offer extra discounts to customers who invite their friends to the preview event. 

Free Shipping: Add value to each purchase by offering free shipping prior to the December holidays. Free shipping is a small perk that customers love!

Holiday Gift Guide: Create shopping idea lists for your customers — gifts for dads, moms, husbands, wives, grandad, etc.

Holiday Coupon: Use coupons as an extra bonus for customers. Include them in your email as a way of saying “thanks” for their trust and loyalty during the past year. 

Holiday Event: Send a holiday announcement early in the season, to let customers know your plans for a holiday event with discount.

Holiday Video: A special video embedded in your email can give your message a bit of personality. The video can show behind-the-scenes employees decorating the offices — or telling customers “thank-you” for a great year.

Promote New Year Events: Tell customers your plans, including upcoming discounts and/or new products.

Share Your Holiday Story: This season is perfect for making a personal connection with customers. Share a story about your family’s celebration — or any story that will ring true with your customers. Spread good cheer and happiness, and a little humor.
